A spreadsheet
is a large blank sheet made up of rows and columns, which is
used for quick and easy calculations. In times past, calculations
were done on a paper ledger sheet.
In, 1978, Mr. Dan Bricklin, an American business student got tired
of adding columns of numbers, and having to add them again and
again when only a few changes needed to be made. He contacted
a computer programming friend and betweem them they created the
first spreadsheet, called Visicalc, written for the Apple 11 computer.
