CABLE -
this microscope needs to be plugged in!
REVOLVING
PLATE - turn this to choose
different lenses.
LIGHT -
this sends rays of light through the object. the LENS changes the direction
of those rays, which makes the object SEEM bigger to your eye.
NOSEPIECE -
this holds the objective lens(es).
BARREL-
light passes through here.
EYEPIECE - contains a lens. Look through here to see object.
NECK -
always carry the microscope with one hand on this and the other underneath
the foot.
FOOT -
supports the microcope. Place one hand under here when carrying.
OBJECTIVE
LENS - make the object seem
bigger. Stamped with a number. The higher the number, the bigger
the magnification.
STAGE -
glass slide is placed here over the opening.
FOCUS
WHEEL - this is turned to raise
and lower the stage. That brings the objective lens nearer or further
and will help you to see a clear image.
