We hope you enjoy doing this project and that you will find out a lot about
how your grandparents and great-grandparents lived in the middle of the 20th
century.
Important things to remember
Make
sure you have your parents' permission to take part in the project.
Have
your questions ready before you go to interview someone.
There is no need to write down everything your interviewee says. Write notes
- words, phrases, short sentences. Write out the story later at home or in
school.
Always thank the people who help you with the questionnaires. If you are nice
to them they will give you lots more information later on.
If someone doesn't know or has forgotten the answer to your question, don't
worry. Move on to the next question.
If you are going on the Internet at home to check out the sites in the Resources
section don't forget to get your parents' permission first. They pay the telephone
bills!
Have fun!
