Annie was born in Cork on New Year's Day 1877. She was the only daughter of Matthew Moore, who was a farmer, and his wife Mary. Annie had two younger brothers, Anthony and Philip. When Annie was a teenager her parents decided to emigrate to America. Unsure of what lay in store for them in the 'New World' they left Annie and her brothers in the care of an aunt and headed off across the Atlantic.....
