Altamont house is a fabulous building, with magnificent gardens and is one of Ireland's best kept secrets. Altamont house is now owned by the state and is open all year. A walk through the garden is a joy at any time of the year.

Duckett's Grove has fallen into disrepair. However it has a remarkable and unique atmosphere. Recently it has been acquired by Carlow Council who plan to maintain this remarkable building.
