Wordpad is a word processing package that comes free with any Windows operating system. It is ideal for teaching children the essentials of wordprocessing. It covers the basics. It is free. It is clutter free. Very functional design. It also does the basics of any professional word processing package. It is usually located via START - PROGRAMS - ACCESSORIES - WORDPAD.
This can be difficult for children to locate. You would be well advised to copy and paste the Wordpad shortcut onto the desktop. To do this you go to START - PROGRAMS-ACCESSORIES-WORDPAD. When you reach the Wordpad symbol RIGHT CLICK and select
COPY. Go to the Desktop. RIGHT CLICK and select PASTE. Please ensure that the children launch the program by single clicking on the Wordpad icon and pressing the Enter button once. This is far more effective than double clicking which can be very confusiing for children at first.
