The
great Egyptian pyramids were built of stone. Highly skilled stonemasons shaped
the stone. The stones were pulled to their location by rollers, and then hoisted
up by peasants and slaves using ramps and levers. Well qualified and imaginative
architects designed these magnificent structures and supervised their construction.
