Television is a communication system whereby pictures and sound are broadcast from one location and received by many viewers some distance away.

The word television most often refers to the “electrical box” that receives and displays the pictures and sound.

Television has brought about     enormous changes in the way     we live.

John Logie Baird was creditted with inventing television when he transmitted moving images in 1926 at his laboratory in London. Regular television broadcasts took place in several countries in the late 1930s.

Although plasma screens have brought a new dimension to television sets the cathode ray tube still provides a good quality affordable option especially for smaller screen televisions.

The CRT was the basis of most televisions for nearly sixty years.
