Ireland - A 20th Century Timeline

 

 TIMELINE PROJECT IDEAS

 

1. Draw a timeline to represent your life. Allow 6 cm for each year. How long will the timeline measure? Mark in special days and occasions.

2. Using the timeline at the top of this page, devise a quiz on different decades of the 20 th century.

3. Imagine that you are a child growing up in a particular decade of the 20th century. Write about your life. Use the above timeline to help you.

4. Ask your parents or grandparents for a copy of an old photograph. Using clues such as hairstyles, fashion and background objects, try to find out as much as you can about the photograph and the people in it.

5. Talk to a parent or grandparent about what life was like when they were growing up. Use the timeline to find out more about that time.

a timeline for the 20 th century would measure 36 km 525 m !
