United Irishmen Rebellion
The rebellion of 1798 is one of the most violent and tragic events in Irish history in the last four hundred years. From the start of the summer to when the harvest should be taken in September nearly 30,000 people died, many of them women and children. The rebellion was fought by peasants armed with weapons that they made themselves against an army armed with cannons and muskets.
