This project is aimed at the Leaving Certificate English course and at the Leaving Certificate Applied English and Communication course.

Michael Longley is one of Ireland's most significant contemporary poets and is now a regular feature on the new syllabus for English in schools.

As well as containing the texts of all the poems required for the syllabus, the project offers a pictorial glossary, a set of notes aimed at clarifying the poems, numerous comments from the poet on his own work, a wealth of background material and a set of links.

Each poem has an accompanying exercise and the Leaving Certificate student is guided to a final essay. The Leaving Certificate Applied student is guided towards the completion of two assignments in two separate modules on the course and also to the completion of a sample question from the Leaving Certificate English and Communication examination.
